Rebirthing, from the English word for being born again, is a technique of conscious breathing. A person can live a long time without food and several days without water, but the body will not last five minutes without breath: it is one of the main components of health.
Who it is for:
— those who live under constant strain and have lost the knack of relaxing
— people carrying long-held psychological tension and anxiety
— anyone for whom an ordinary healthy lifestyle has not been enough
What you will learn and what is included:
— conscious breathing without meditation or trance: you stay clear-headed and listen to your body
— how the technique brings body, emotions and thoughts into agreement, and why it is used within psychotherapy
— “energetic breathing”: restoring the free movement of life energy along the channels of the body described by traditional Chinese medicine
— how breathing releases muscular tension and improves circulation and lymph flow, supporting the whole body rather than masking symptoms
— the history of the method: Leonard Orr in the 1970s, his own birth trauma, and his accidental discovery of rapid breathing in a hot bath
— how the sessions run: one to one, online by video with our qualified instructor Galina, one hour per session, with you at home in a comfortable position and nothing to distract you
— the courses: the minimum is four sessions every other day; the recommended full course is ten sessions, four every other day and then six at one or two per week; sessions spaced further apart weaken the cumulative effect
— the schedule is agreed between you and the instructor
Please note: the practice has contraindications, so do tell the instructor about any serious condition before you begin. Breathing is the gentlest instrument we have; use it attentively.
